Stour Provost is a village in the Blackmore Vale area of north Dorset, England, situated on the River Stour between Sturminster Newton and Gillingham. The village has a population of 560 (2001). 5.6% of dwellings are second homes. Stour Provost once constituted a liberty, containing only the parish itself. East Stour, Dorset
East Stour is a village in the county of Dorset in southern England. It lies within the North Dorset administrative district of the county, about two miles south of the town of Gillingham. It is sited on Corallian limestone soil, half a mile from the east bank of the River Stour in the Blackmore Vale and 2 miles west of the broadly conical local landmark Duncliffe Hill (210 m). Above the west bank of the river, about a mile away, is the village of West Stour.
