Thurgarton railway station

Thugarton railway station serves the village of Thurgarton in Nottinghamshire, England. In 1880, the village had a station on the Midland Railway and John Kind was the first station master. At the station much of the original décor remains apart from the electric barriers added later. The buildings were designed by Thomas Chambers Hine.

Thurgaton was a wapentake (equivalent to a hundred) of the historic county of Nottinghamshire, England. It extended north-eastwards from Nottingham. The River Trent formed most of the eastern boundary.

Epperstone is a village in Nottinghamshire located near both Lowdham and Calverton. The village has a population of around 500. Epperstone is located in the valley of the Dover Beck, 7 miles south-west of Southwell. It has an area of 2,343 acres, of which 250 acres are wooded. The common was enclosed in 1768, when 254 acres were allotted in lieu of tithes.
