St. Michael, Crooked Lane

Coordinates: {{#invoke:Coordinates|coord}}{{#coordinates:51|51|01.36|N|0|5|20.89|W|type:landmark_scale:10000 | |name= }} St Michael, Crooked Lane was an “antient” parish church situated on the east side of Miles' Lane, Great Eastcheap in Candlewick Ward in the City of London. It was rebuilt after the Great Fire of London by Sir Christopher Wren and demolished in 1831.

Benington Castle

Benington Castle is a ruined castle in the village of Benington, near Stevenage in Hertfordshire at grid reference TL296236. It was built as a motte and bailey fortress in the late 11th or early 12th century, founded by Peter de Valoignes. In 1136, Roger de Valoignes built a stone castle with a keep. In 1177, King Henry II ordered that the tower be demolished but in 1192 the castle was in use again. It was finally destroyed in 1212, after Robert Fitzwalter rebelled against King John.
