Whitley Bay Ice Rink

The Whitley Bay Ice Rink is an ice rink in Whitley Bay, Tyne and Wear, England and is the home of the Whitley Warriors ice hockey team. An additional team to played out of the ice rink, the Newcastle Vipers. It is one of two permanent public ice rinks in the north east of England. A ten-pin bowling centre in the area upstairs was closed in 2007. It was also the region's premier concert venue, until the Newcastle Arena (now Metro Radio Arena) opened in 1995.

Whitley Bay F.C

Whitley Bay Football Club (also known as The Bay, or The Seahorses) are an English football club based in the North-East of England. The present Whitley Bay Football Club was formed in 1950 and was known as Whitley Bay Athletic. Whitley Bay play their home matches at Hillheads Park, which is adjacent to the Whitley Bay Ice Rink in Whitley Bay and has a maximum capacity of 4,500.

Cullercoats Metro station

Cullercoats Metro station is the Tyne and Wear Metro station serving Cullercoats on the North Tyneside coast. It was originally built by the North Eastern Railway as part of the North Tyneside Loop. It first opened on the 7 July 1882 and has been exclusively operated by the Tyne and Wear Metro since the opening day of the system on 11 August 1980. The original buildings have been retained and as such Cullercoats station is one of the most architecturally interesting on the Metro network.

Cullercoats

Cullercoats is an urban area of north east England, with a population 9,407 in 2004. It has now been absorbed into the North Tyneside conurbation, sitting between Tynemouth and Whitley Bay. There is a semi-circular sandy beach with cliffs and caves, and the village is a popular destination for day-trippers. The name is thought to derive from Dove (or Culver) Cotes.
