Delnadamph Lodge

Delnadamph Lodge is on the Balmoral Estate about 8 miles north of the castle. It was given by the Queen to Charles and Diana on their marriage, but Diana found the home uninviting and was not interested in repairing it. The lodge was gutted in 1987, but twenty years later is being rebuilt as a 12 bedroom retreat for Charles and Camilla. The Lodge will complement Birkhall which Charles inherited from the Queen Mother. Delnadamph is about 12 miles away from Birkhall.

River Don, Aberdeenshire

The River Don is a river in north-east Scotland. It rises in the Grampians and flows eastwards, through Aberdeenshire, to the North Sea at Aberdeen. The Don passes through Alford, Kemnay, Inverurie, Kintore, and Dyce. Its main tributary, the River Ury, joins at Inverurie.

Ben Avon

Ben Avon is a mountain in the Cairngorm mountains of Scotland. The highest point of the massif, known as Leabaidh an Dàimh Bhuide (bed of the yellow stag) is classified as both a Munro and a Marilyn. Ben Avon is a very large and complex mountain sprawling over more than 30 km². The summit plateau is dominated by granite tors, one of which forms the summit.

Beinn a' Bhùird

Beinn a' Bhùird is a Munro in the Cairngorm mountain range of Scotland. In Watson (1975) the author suggests the mountain should be named Beinn Bòrd - table hill saying that local Scottish Gaelic speakers pronounced the mountain Paing Bòrd, with some of the older local folk still using Painna Bòrd. The closest 'village' to Beinn a' Bhùird is Braemar, Aberdeenshire and the most common approach by car is through this village.
