Quinag

The mountain Quinag (808 m) in Sutherland, in the Scottish Highlands, is in fact a mountain range with an undulating series of peaks along its Y-shaped crest. The name Quinag is an anglicisation of the Gaelic name Cuinneag, a milking pail, reflecting its distinctive shape. Geologically, Quinag is made of Torridonian sandstone, resting on a substrate of Lewisian gneiss.

Eas a' Chual Aluinn

Eas a' Chual Aluinn in the parish of Assynt, Sutherland, Highland, Scotland, is Britain's highest waterfall with a sheer drop of 658 ft (200 m). When in full flow it is over three times higher than Niagara Falls. The waterfall can be reached by a six mile walk across boggy ground from the road three miles south of Kylesku in Sutherland. In good weather, a boat-trip runs from the slipway by the Kylesku Hotel to Loch Beag, from where the waterfall is visible.
