Liberton, Edinburgh

Liberton is a suburb of Edinburgh, the capital of Scotland. It is in the south of the city, south-east of the King's Buildings campus of the University of Edinburgh. The name, of Saxon origin and formerly written Libertun, has generally been believed to signify 'Leper Town', the area being supposed at one time to have contained a small colony of lepers exiled from the city.

Edinburgh South (UK Parliament constituency)

Edinburgh South is a constituency of the House of Commons of the Parliament of the United Kingdom, first used in the general election of 1885. It elects one Member of Parliament (MP) by the first past the post system of election. The current MP is the Labour Party's Ian Murray who was first elected at the 2010 general election with a majority of just 316 votes. Prior to the 2005 general election the constituency had the same boundaries as the Scottish Parliament constituency with the same name.

Alnwickhill is a suburb of Edinburgh, the capital of Scotland. It is on the southern edge of the city, approximately four miles from the city centre. It neighbours the areas of Liberton and Kaimes. The area is now primarily residential, but was the site of Backside Lee Farm until the 1970s when the land was sold to Crudens for development.
