Beinn Ruigh Choinnich

Beinn Ruigh Choinnich is a hill which overlooks the port of Lochboisdale on the east coast of the island of South Uist in Scotland. Its name is sometimes given in English as Ben Kenneth, although a literal translation would be King Kenneth's Hill. The origin of the name is unknown. The hill is 275 m in height and can be climbed quite easily.

Eileanan Iasgaich

Na h-Eileanan Iasgaich comprise a small uninhabited archipelago in Loch Boisdale, in the south east of the island of South Uist, in the Outer Hebrides, Scotland. The individual islands are separated from one another at high tide, but connected to one another at low tide, (although not to their much larger neighbour of South Uist). They are around 50 ha in extent and over 20m at their highest point. Their boundaries are ill defined.

Calvay Castle

Calvay Castle is a ruined castle on an islet close to the island of Calbhaigh, at the eastern approaches to Loch Boisdale, South Uist. The castle is linked by a causeway from Calbhaigh, which becomes inundated at high tide. The castle is a scheduled monument. The castle may have been built by the MacRuaries of Garmoran, or by the MacNeils of Barra who were granted the lands of Boisdate in the 15th century.

Stuley

Stuley is an island lying to the east of South Uist in the Outer Hebrides, Scotland. It lies off the section of coastline between Loch Eynort and Loch Boisdale. It is 45 hectares and 40 metres at its highest point.

Milton, South Uist

Milton is the name of a tack or tenant farm on the island of South Uist in the Outer Hebrides, Scotland. It was on this tack that Jacobite heroine Flora MacDonald (1722-1790) was born and spent her childhood. A memorial dedicated to her stands at the remains of the township.
