River Bogie

The River Bogie, also known as the Water of Bogie, is a river in NW Aberdeenshire in the north east of Scotland. It is noted for its brown trout fishing. Starting with the confluence of the Craig and Corchinan burns, near the parish of Auchindoir and Kearn, the River Bogie flows northeast for about 11 miles through the Strathbogie valley to Rhynie and Huntly, immediately after which it joins the River Deveron, of which it forms one of the two main tributaries.

St Mary's Kirk, Auchindoir

St Mary's Kirk at Auchindoir, between Rhynie and Lumsden, in Aberdeenshire, Scotland, is one of the country's finest surviving medieval parish kirks. The main doorway is early Romanesque, and there is a well-preserved early 16th-century sacrament house, similar to those at Deskford and Kinkell. The early 13th-century kirk has been roofless since the early 19th century, but the walls and gables are nevertheless in good condition.

Rhynie, Aberdeenshire

Rhynie is a village in Aberdeenshire, Scotland which the A97 road runs through, situated 14 miles northwest of Alford. The Rhynie Chert is named after the village as well as the extinct plant genus Rhynia. The missionary, teacher and engineer Alexander Murdoch Mackay was born in Rhynie on 13 October 1849.
