Tayside

Tayside Region (Taobh Tatha in Gaelic) was a local government region of Scotland from 15 May 1975 to 31 March 1996. It was created by the 1973 Act following recommendations made by the 1969 Wheatley Report which attempted to replace the mishmash of counties, cities, burghs and districts, with a uniform two-tier system of regional and district councils.

Blair Athol distillery

Blair Athol Distillery is a distillery in Scotland that distills Blair Athol single malt whisky. It is used in Bell's whisky, and is also normally available in a 12 year old bottling. The distillery is located near Pitlochry in Perthshire. The distillery was founded in 1798 by John Steward and Robert Robertson, originally named 'Aldour', after the Allt Dour burn the distillery draws it water from, but closed soon after opening.

Edradour distillery

Edradour distillery is a Highland single malt whisky distillery based in Pitlochry, Perthshire. Edradour is reputed to be the smallest distillery in Scotland. Established in 1825, the distillery was traditionally run by three men but now there are just two. Only twelve casks are produced each week. They have a tour which costs £7.50 and includes a dram. The stills are the smallest in use of any distillery in Scotland.

Loch Faskally

Loch Faskally is a man-made reservoir in Perth and Kinross, Scotland, 2.5 kilometres northwest of Pitlochry. The loch lies between steeply wooded hills and is approximately 3.2 kilometres in length, narrowing to around 700 metres wide. The loch is retained by the Pitlochry Dam which was built by Wimpey Construction between 1947 and 1950 as part of the North of Scotland Hydro-Electric Board's Tummel Hydro-Electric Power Scheme.
