Bures Hamlet is a civil parish in the Braintree district of Essex, England. According to the 2001 census it had a population of 765. The parish covers the western part of the village of Bures, the eastern part being in the Bures St. Mary parish in Suffolk. It also includes Daw's Cross. Bures railway station is in the parish.

East Anglian Railway Museum

The East Anglian Railway Museum is located at Chappel and Wakes Colne railway station in Essex, England, which is situated on the former Great Eastern Railway branch line from Marks Tey to Sudbury. Services on the Sudbury Branch Line are operated by Greater Anglia. The museum has a wide collection of locomotives and rolling stock, some of which are fully restored, two are conversion into Thomas and Toby replicas while others are undergoing repair and restoration.

Chappel and Wakes Colne railway station

Chappel and Wakes Colne railway station is a railway station serving the villages of Wakes Colne and Chappel in Essex, England. The station itself is located in Wakes Colne. It has one platform station on the Sudbury branch line. The station is also home to the East Anglian Railway Museum which has the former up platform, a short running line and buildings on the east side of the line. Just to the south of the station the line runs over a notable viaduct.

Sudbury transmitting station

The Sudbury transmitting station is a facility for telecommunications and broadcasting transmission at Sudbury, England. It consists of two guyed masts, one, the original, being 165.8 metres high, and a second mast (no longer in service) at 103 metres . They have antennas attached at various heights. It is situated 14 miles WSW of Ipswich at a site height of 70m. All 6 Digital TV MUXES are transmitted from Sudbury using an omni-directional pattern at an ERP of 100 kW.
