Hoswick (pronounced Hoh-sic) is a village in the south mainland of Shetland, to the West of Sandwick. It is separated from Sandwick by the Hoswick burn and from Channerwick in the south by the hill on which the village is situated.

Sandwick, Shetland see also Sandwick, Whalsay and Sandwick, Orkney Sandwick (Old Norse: Sandvik "Sandy Bay") is a township in the Shetland Islands, situated 13 miles south of Lerwick in the South Mainland. It comprises a number of distinct settlements in very close proximity to each other, each remaining distinct through being separated by agricultural land.

Levenwick

Levenwick is a small village about 17 miles south of Lerwick, on the east side of the South Mainland of Shetland. It is part of the parish of Dunrossness and the Levenwick Health Centre provides medical support for the Dunrossness area. In the literature of the isles, it is associated with George Stewart, author of the pioneering Shetland Fireside Tales, who lived here in his youth. Today Levenwick is home to a number of artists, including Amy Moncrieff, Anne Bain and James Bruce Thomason.

Broch of Mousa

Broch of Mousa is the finest preserved example of a broch or round tower in Shetland, Scotland. It is the tallest still standing in the world and amongst the best-preserved prehistoric buildings in Europe. It is thought to have been constructed circa 100 BC, one of 570 brochs built throughout Scotland. The site is managed by Historic Scotland.

The Crucible of Iron Age Shetland

The Crucible of Iron Age Shetland is a combination of three sites in Shetland that have applied to be on the United Kingdom "Tentative List" of possible nominations for the UNESCO World Heritage Programme list of sites of outstanding cultural or natural importance to the common heritage of humankind. The application was made by the Shetland Amenity Trust in 2010, and in 2011 the site became one of 11 successful UK applications to join the Tentative List, three of them from Scotland.
