Hebridean Light Railway Company

|} The Hebridean Light Railway Company proposed to operate on the Scottish islands of Skye and Lewis. The Skye line was to have connected the port of Isleornsay (for ferries from Mallaig on the Scottish mainland) and the port of Uig on the north-west coast of the island, from where ferries would have sailed to Stornoway on Lewis. Another line was then proposed to link Stornoway to a pier at Borghastan, on Loch Carloway. Branch lines were proposed to Breasclete and Dunvegan.

Trotternish

Trotternish or Tròndairnis is the northernmost peninsula of the Isle of Skye, in Scotland. One of its more well-known features is the Trotternish landslip, a massive landslide that runs almost the full length of the peninsula, some 30 kilometres . The landslip contains two of Skye's most famous landmarks: the Old Man of Storr, an isolated rocky pinnacle, and the Quiraing, an area of dramatic and unusual rock formations.

Snizort is an area of the Isle of Skye comprising the head of Loch Snizort and the western coast of Trotternish up to Uig, which is the largest settlement.

Loch Snizort

Loch Snizort is a sea loch in the northwest of the Isle of Skye between the Waternish and Trotternish peninsulas. It is fed by the River Snizort, originating in the hills east of Bracadale. The mouth of Loch Snizort gives access to the lower Minch and contains the Ascrib Islands. Sea fishing in Loch Snizort yields mackerel, pollock, and ling.
