Stronsay Airport

Stronsay Airport is located 15 NM northeast by north of Kirkwall Airport on Stronsay, Orkney Islands, Scotland. Stronsay Aerodrome has a CAA Ordinary Licence (Number P540) that allows flights for the public transport of passengers or for flying instruction as authorised by the licensee (Orkney Islands Council). The aerodrome is not licensed for night use.

Papa Stronsay

Papa Stronsay is a small island in Orkney, Scotland, lying north east of Stronsay. It is 74 hectares in size, and 13 metres at its highest point. According to folklore, some of the natives were descended from a female selkie. This was because they had horny skin on their feet and hands, and permanently smelt of fish.

Holm of Huip

The Holm of Huip is a small island in the Orkney Islands, in Spurness Sound to the north west of Stronsay. The Holm has a cairn on it, and a number of grey seals.

Linga Sound (Orkney)

Linga Sound is the strait between the islands of Linga Holm and Stronsay in the Orkney islands of Scotland. It leads into St. Catherines Bay from the north. The sound is 4 fathoms deep. The northern entrance is very narrow. Linga Sound and St. Catherines Bay form a safe harbor, but it is difficult to enter. The land on both sides of Linga sound is low and sloping, so the entrance is hard to pick out at night.

Midgarth

Midgarth, also known as the Holm of Midgarth and Linga Holm is an uninhabited Scottish island extending to approximately 57 hectares situated 700 metres west of Stronsay island in the Orkney archipelago. The name "Linga Holm" is derived from the Old Norse Lyngholm.
