A48 road

The A48 is a major trunk road in Great Britain. It runs from the A40 at Highnam 3 miles west of Gloucester to the A40 at Carmarthen. Before the construction of the first Severn Bridge in 1966 it was the principal route between South Wales and South West England. For most of its journey through South Wales, it runs almost parallel to its successor.

Peterston-super-Ely

Peterston-super-Ely is a village in the Welsh county of the Vale of Glamorgan. As its name suggests, the village lies on the River Ely, on the other side of which is the Coryton estate. The local parish church is dedicated to Saint Peter. There are small remains of a castle. Peterston-super-Ely is the primary outdoor filming location for the Welsh-language soap opera, Pobol y Cwm. Vale of Glamorgan is a constituency of the National Assembly for Wales. It elects one Assembly Member by the first past the post method of election.
