Uwchaled Rural District

Uwchaled (from Uwch Aled) was a rural district in the administrative county of Denbighshire, Wales, from 1894 to 1935. The name denoted the upper reaches of the River Aled, and originated in the medieval cwmwd of Uwch Aled. The rural district was created by the Local Government Act 1894, and comprised the part of the existing Corwen Rural Sanitary District in Denbighshire.

Cerrigydrudion

Cerrigydrudion (or Cerrig-y-drudion) is a village and its surrounding parish in Conwy County Borough, Wales. Previously it was part of the historic county of Denbighshire (pre 1974) and then Clwyd. The village formerly lay on the A5, but a short by-pass now takes the road along the south-western edge of the village. Prior to the by-pass being built, Cerrig-y-Drudion was the highest village on the A5 between London and Holyhead.

Clocaenog Forest

The Clocaenog Forest is in west Denbighshire and east Conwy, Wales on Mynydd Hiraethog. It is 40 square miles (100 km²) in extent, mostly coniferous softwoods under the control of the Forestry Commission. It was planted in 1905 on what was mostly moorland and many hill farms. It is a highland region, mostly above 350 metres.
