The Skirrid Mountain Inn

The Skirrid Mountain Inn http://www. geograph. org. uk/photo/216735 is a public house in the small village of Llanfihangel Crucorney, just a few miles north of Abergavenny, Monmouthshire, Wales. Perhaps the oldest pub in Wales, listed in chronicles from 1100. Owain Glyndŵr is said to have rallied his forces in the cobbled courtyard in the early 15th century before raiding nearby settlements sympathetic to the English king, Henry IV.

Llancillo Church

Llancillo Church is a Grade II*-listed former church in Herefordshire, England, near the Welsh border at grid reference SO36622557. It is thought that the remote site was first used by a hermit in the 6th century but that the current chancel dates from the 11th century and the rest of the church was substantially rebuilt in the 17th century. Situated amongst trees and fields, it was dedicated to Saint Peter. There is a Tudor doorway and, inside, a 13th-century baptismal font.
