St. Jude Educational Institute

St. Jude Educational Institute is a private, Roman Catholic high school in Montgomery, Alabama. It is located in the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Mobile, and was built as "the City of St. Jude" by Father Harold Purcell for the advancement of the Negro people. St. Jude was opened in 1946. It offers a full college preparatory program as well as basic skills and trade programs at night for adults. During the Selma to Montgomery marches in 1965, the march camped on the St. Jude campus.

Dunn–Oliver Acadome

The Dunn–Oliver Acadome is a 7,400-seat multi-purpose arena in Montgomery, Alabama. Opened in 1992, it is home to the Alabama State Hornets basketball team of Alabama State University. From its opening until May 2008, it was named the Joe L. Reed Acadome, after Dr. Joe L. Reed, who played a significant, high profile leadership role at ASU.
