Northeast Alabama Regional Airport

Northeast Alabama Regional Airport is a public use airport located four nautical miles (7 km) southwest of the central business district of Gadsden, a city in Etowah County, Alabama, United States. It is owned by Gadsden Airport Authority and it was previously known as Gadsden Municipal Airport. According to the FAA's National Plan of Integrated Airport Systems for 2009–2013, it is categorized as a general aviation facility. The airport formerly had scheduled passenger service.

Southside, Alabama

Southside is a city in Etowah county in the U.S. state of Alabama. It is included in the Gadsden Metropolitan Statistical Area. The population was 8,412 at the time of the 2010 United States Census. Located approximately 15 miles from downtown Gadsden, Southside is a rather affluent suburb and is one of the fastest growing cities in Northeast Alabama.

Atlantic Southeast Airlines Flight 2254

On April 9, 1990, Atlantic Southeast Airlines commuter commercial flight 2254 from Muscle Shoals, Alabama to Gadsden, Alabama to Atlanta, Georgia was involved in a mid-air collision with a Cessna 172 over Gadsden resulting in the death of the pilot and passenger of the Cessna 172.

Neely Henry Lake

Neely Henry Lake is located on the Coosa River near Gadsden, Alabama. The lake was formed by the Neely Henry Dam (57 ft high), built in 1966 by Alabama Power Company for hydroelectric power and recreation. Completed on June 2, 1966, the dam and reservoir were named for H. Neely Henry, a senior executive vice-president of Alabama Power.
