WEWN is the shortwave radio outlet of the Eternal Word Television Network, a large Catholic international broadcaster. The station broadcasts from the city of Irondale, Alabama, on the outskirts of Birmingham with a high transmitter power of 500 kilowatts. The station runs three programming streams, targeted at North America, Latin America, and Africa (as well as Europe on a secondary basis). Programming is similar to that of the network's television channel.

Barber Motorsports Park

The Barber Motorsports Park is a 740 acres multi-purpose racing facility located on the eastern fringes of Birmingham, Alabama, USA near Leeds. It was built by George Barber, and includes the Barber Vintage Motorsport Museum. It has been the site of the IndyCar Series Grand Prix of Alabama since 2010 season. Barber is also the home of the North American Porsche Driving School and the Kevin Schwantz Motorcycle School.

Shoal Creek Golf and Country Club

Shoal Creek Golf and Country Club, located in Shelby County, east of Hoover, Alabama, USA, is an invitation-only private golf club which opened in 1977. The course was designed by professional golfer Jack Nicklaus and is rated as the top golf course in the state.
