Alaskan Air Command

Alaskan Air Command (AAC) is an inactive United States Air Force Major Command. Established in 1942 under the United States Army Air Forces, its mission was to organize and administer the air defense system of Alaska, exercise direct control of all active measures, and coordinate all passive means of air defense. In addition, the command also supported Strategic Air Command elements operating through and around Alaska.

Merrill Field

Merrill Field is a public-use general aviation airport located one mile (1.6 km) east of downtown Anchorage in the U.S. state of Alaska. The airport is owned by Municipality of Anchorage. This was the first official airport in Anchorage when it opened in 1930. The airport is named for Russel Merrill, an Alaskan aviation pioneer. The first aviation beacon in the Territory of Alaska was located at Merrill Field and was dedicated on September 25, 1932 in Merrill's honor.

Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Anchorage

The Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Anchorage is an ecclesiastical territory or diocese of the Roman Catholic Church in the northwestern United States, comprising several boroughs and census areas in the state of Alaska. It is led by a prelate archbishop which serves as pastor of the mother church, Cathedral of the Holy Family in the Municipality of Anchorage. The archbishop is concurrently metropolitan bishop of the suffragan dioceses of the Province of Anchorage: Fairbanks and Juneau.

Anchorage Museum

The Anchorage Museum at Rasmuson Center is a museum located in downtown Anchorage in the U.S. state of Alaska. Beginning as a public-private partnership to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Alaska purchase, it opened in 1968 with an exhibition of 60 borrowed Alaska paintings and a collection of 2,500 historic and ethnographic objects loaned from the local historical society, and the museum has been enlarged several times since. Its official name is now Anchorage Museum at Rasmuson Center.
