Eric Marcus Municipal Airport

Eric Marcus Municipal Airport is a county-owned, public-use airport in Pima County, Arizona, United States. It is located five nautical miles (9 km) north of the central business district of Ajo and is about 82 miles southwest of Phoenix. The airport was renamed on February 11, 2006; it was formerly known as Ajo Municipal Airport. The airport is included in the FAA's National Plan of Integrated Airport Systems for 2009–2013, which categorizes it as a general aviation facility.

Childs Valley

The Childs Valley is a valley in the Sonoran Desert of south-central Arizona west of Ajo. Upstream sections are located in far western Pima County; downstream it merges into the Gila River Valley in southwestern Maricopa County. Upstream, the valley is east and parallel to the Growler Valley and Growler Mountains which lie directly west.

Ajo Air Force Station

Ajo Air Force Station is a closed United States Air Force General Surveillance Radar station. It is located 6.4 miles northwest of Ajo, Arizona. It was closed in 1969 by the Air Force, and the radar site turned over to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). Today the site is part of the Joint Surveillance System (JSS), designated by NORAD as Western Air Defense Sector (WADS) Ground Equipment Facility J-29A.

Ajo is a census-designated place (CDP) in Pima County, Arizona, United States. The population was 3,705 at the 2000 census. Ajo is located on State Route 85 just 43 miles from the Mexican border. It is the closest community to Organ Pipe Cactus National Monument.
