Granite Basin Lake
Granite Basin Lake is located about 15 minutes from Prescott, in North Central Arizona. Located in the Prescott National Forest, it is adjacent to the Granite Mountain Wilderness Area. Construction began on the dam in 1937 by the Civilian Conservation Corps and was completed in 1939. The Raft, a segment of the movie Creepshow 2, was filmed here.

Prescott Observatory
Prescott Observatory (IAU code 684) was built by Paul G. Comba and is now owned and operated by Matt Francis. The observatory is located south of Prescott, in Arizona, and is dedicated to the study of cosmology. Refurbished in 2011, the observatory houses a PlaneWave CDK 24 inch telescope with two Takahashi wide field refractors in the dome. There is a dedicated solar observatory that is equipped with a Lunt 152 solar telescope.

Granite Mountain (Arizona)
Granite Mountain is a 7,626-foot mountain located in Yavapai County, Arizona that covers roughly 12 square miles . It was once known as Mount Gurley for the first governor of the Arizona Territory, John A. Gurley. Its southwest face has a sheer granite cliff approximately 500 feet high that is one of the best locations for rock climbing in the state of Arizona. It is located in the Granite Mountain Wilderness, which itself is in Prescott National Forest.
