It is located on Dog Creek about 6 miles south-southeast of Bridgeport, at an elevation of 7057 feet (2151 m). Today, Dog Town is a defunct gold rush era town in Mono County, California. It is located at {{#invoke:Coordinates|coord}}{{#coordinates:38.1701984|N|119.1973749|W||||| | |name= }}, on Dog Creek, near the junction of Clearwater and Virginia Creeks.

Monoville, California

Monoville is a former settlement in Mono County, California. It was located about 12 miles south-southeast of Bridgeport. In 1859, gold was discovered at Monoville. A conduit was constructed to divert water from Virginia Creek to aid hydraulic mining operations. This canal, termed the Mono Canal, was at its time the only such project in the county, and cost $75,000 to build. A post office operated at Monoville from 1859 to 1862. At its peak, Monoville had a population over 1,000.

Conway Summit

Conway Summit (el. 8,143 feet) is a mountain pass in Mono County, California. It is traversed by U.S. Highway 395, which connects Bridgeport and the East Walker River on the north side of the pass to Mono Lake and Lee Vining to the south. It marks the highest point on U.S. 395, which also traverses high passes at Deadman Summit and Devil's Gate Pass. Conway Summit is named after John Andrew Conway, a settler in the area in 1880.
