Buena Vista Oil Field

The Buena Vista Oil Field, formerly the Naval Petroleum Reserve No. 2 (NPR-2) is a large oil field in Kern County, San Joaquin Valley, California in the United States. Discovered in 1909, and having a cumulative production of approximately 667 million barrels, it is the tenth-largest oil field in California. It is also one of the closest to being exhausted, having a total reserve of only about one percent of its original oil, and having produced a mere 713,000 barrels in 2006.

Buena Vista Golf Course

Buena Vista Golf Course is an 18-hole public golf course in Kern County, California. It is located near Dustin Acres, approximately 20 miles west of Bakersfield. It is one of three courses owned and managed by the County of Kern Parks & Recreation Division. The course is 6,710 yards on hilly terrain, designed by George Mifflin. It opened in 1951. The course has views of the Buena Vista Aquatic Recreation Area (which consist of two artificial lakes), farmland, and mountains.

Elk Hills Oil Field

The Elk Hills Oil Field (formerly the Naval Petroleum Reserve No. 1) is a large oil field in northwestern Kern County, in the Elk Hills of the San Joaquin Valley, California in the United States, about twenty miles (32 km) west of Bakersfield. Discovered in 1911, and having a cumulative production of close to 1.3 billion barrels of oil at the end of 2006, it is the fifth-largest oil field in California, and the seventh-most productive field in the United States.
