Golden Fleece Tunnel (California)

The Golden Fleece Tunnel, is a gold mining site in the Westville gold mining district in Placer County, California. The mine is located 2 miles northeast of the former mining town Westville, California, north to the Foresthill Divide Road. It has a 3,000 ft tunnel and was operated successfully by the Golden Fleece Mining and Milling Company (New York). The mine is no longer in operation. Other nearby mines are the Hogsback Tunnel and the Union Tunnel.

Hell Hole Reservoir

Hell Hole reservoir is an artificial, crescent-shaped lake in the Sierra Nevada mountain range 10 miles west of Lake Tahoe in California. The lake is about 3.5 miles long when at full capacity. The lake was created in 1966 with the completion of Lower Hell Hole Dam across the Rubicon River, which is a major tributary of the Middle Fork of the American River. Hell Hole is named for a deep canyon which is now under the waters of the lake.

Placer County, California

Placer County is a county located in both the Sacramento Valley and Sierra Nevada regions of the U.S. state of California, in what is known as the Gold Country. It stretches from the suburbs of Sacramento to Lake Tahoe and the Nevada border. Because of the expansion of the Greater Sacramento, Placer County is one of the fastest growing counties in California. Between 2000 and 2010, the population grew from 248,399 to 348,432. The county seat is Auburn.

Jacobsen (also, Jacobsens) is a former settlement in El Dorado County, California. It was located 2.5 miles west-southwest of Wentworth Springs, at an elevation of 5860 feet (1786 m). The site is now called Jacobsen Meadow.
