Adams Station, California

Adams Station is an unincorporated community in Del Norte County, California. It is located on the Smith River just west of Gasquet, at an elevation of 338 feet (103 m). The place is named for Mary Adams Peacock, proprietress of a tavern here during the stage coach days.

Pelican Bay State Prison

Pelican Bay State Prison (PBSP) is a supermax California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation state prison in Crescent City, California. The 275-acre facility is explicitly designed to keep California's alleged "worst of the worst" prisoners in long-term solitary confinement. It takes its name from an eponymous shallow bay on the Pacific coast, about 2 miles (3 km) to the west. The prison lies in a detached section of Crescent City that is several miles north of the main urban area.
