Horstville is an unincorporated community in Yuba County, California. It is located 2 miles northeast of Wheatland, at an elevation of 112 feet (34 m). A post office operated at Horstville from 1898 to 1901. The name is in honor of E. Clemons Horst, local rancher. Rancho Johnson

Rancho Johnson (or Johnson's Rancho) was a 22,197-acre Mexican land grant in present day Yuba County, California, given in 1844 by Governor Manuel Micheltorena to Pablo Gutiérrez. The grant was located along the north side of Bear River, and emcompassed present day Wheatland.

Wheatland, California

Wheatland is a city in Yuba County, California, United States. The population was 3,456 at the 2010 census, up from 2,275 at the 2000 census. Wheatland is located 12.5 miles southeast of Marysville. It is most commonly known to Northern Californians as the home of Sleep Train Amphitheatre, an open-air 18,500 seat venue for music and other performing artists.

Camp Far West Reservoir

Camp Far West Reservoir (also known as Camp Far West Lake) is a small reservoir in the foothills of Northern California located approximately 8 miles east of Wheatland, California and 45 mile northeast of Sacramento. The lake also forms the meeting point of three California counties, Placer, Nevada and Yuba. The lake is formed by Camp Far West Dam, which compounds the waters of the Bear River and Rock Creek, near what was formerly the confluence of the two streams.

Erle, California

Erle is a former settlement in Yuba County, California. It was located 6.25 miles north-northeast of Wheatland, at an elevation of 115 feet (35 m). Erle still appeared on maps as of 1910; the former settlement is now part of Beale Air Force Base. A post office operated at Erle from 1892 to 1909. The name is in honor of a pioneer family.
