Mead, Colorado

Mead is a Statutory Town in Weld County, Colorado, United States. The population was 2,017 at the 2000 census. Mead was mentioned as the origin of a silver dolphin pendant in Bones, Season 2, Episode 11. Some outside scenes from the movie Die Hard 2 starring Bruce Willis were filmed at the Highlandlake Church near Mead (Of note is that "Highlandlake" is spelled as one word as opposed to two words, e.g. , "Highland Lake"). As of 2011, there are no traffic signal lights in the town of Mead.

Fort St. Vrain Generating Station

Fort Saint Vrain Generating Station is a natural gas powered electricity generating facility located near the town of Platteville in northern Colorado in the United States. It currently has a capacity of just under 1000MW and is owned and operated by Xcel Energy, the successor to the plant's founder, the Public Service Company of Colorado. It went online in this form in 1996. The facility was built originally as a nuclear power plant.

Fort Saint Vrain

Fort Saint Vrain was an 1837 fur trading post built by the Bent, St. Vrain Company, and located at the confluence of Saint Vrain Creek and the South Platte River, about 20 miles (32 km) east of the Rocky Mountains in the unorganized territory of the United States. This area later became part of the State of Colorado. A historical marker notes the place where Old Fort St. Vrain once stood, today at the end of Weld County Road 40, located about seven miles north of Fort Vasquez, Colorado.
