Twin Lakes, Lake County, Colorado

Twin Lakes is a census-designated place and a U.S. Post Office located in Lake County, Colorado, United States near the base of Mount Elbert. The population as of the 2010 Census was 171. The Twin Lakes Post Office has the ZIP Code 81251. Lake County, one of the original 17 counties created by the Colorado legislature in 1861, was named for Twin Lakes. As originally defined, Lake County included a large portion of western Colorado to the south and west of its present boundaries.

Twin Lakes Dam

Twin Lakes Dam (National ID # CO02045) is a dam in Lake County, Colorado, about 13 miles south of Leadville. The earthen dam was constructed in 1978 by the United States Bureau of Reclamation with a height of 53 feet and a length at its crest of 3150 feet.

Ouray Peak

Ouray Peak, 3,949 meters (12,957 ft) tall, is a peak located central Colorado. It is 6 miles south of the Independence Pass, and 25 miles southeast of Aspen, in northern Chaffee County. The peak is located in the northern Sawatch Mountains. Not to be confused with: Mount Ouray, also called Ouray Peak in northern Saguache County.

Grizzly Peak (Colorado)

Grizzly Peak is a mountain in Colorado, the highest thirteener (a peak between 13,000 feet and 13,999 feet feet in elevation) in the state. The mountain is composed of andesite lava flows and breccias of Oligocene age. It is located in the Sawatch Range on the Continental Divide, on the border between Pitkin County and Chaffee County. Grizzly Peak is the 54th highest peak in Colorado by most standard definitions, just missing the list of Colorado fourteeners.
