The 137,000-acre installation extends south into Pueblo and Fremont counties. Aiken Canyon Preserve

Aiken Canyon Preserve is a 1,621-acre Nature Conservancy-managed state property in Colorado. It is named after Charles Aiken, a U.S. surveyor and ornithologist. There is a Visitor Center/Field Station and a four-mile (6 km)-loop hiking trail.

Pikes Peak International Raceway

Pikes Peak International Raceway, also known as PPIR, is a participant focused racetrack located in Fountain, Colorado, 20 miles south of Colorado Springs and 25 miles north of Pueblo. Before its temporary closure in 2005, the track hosted races in several series including the Indy Racing League and NASCAR's Busch and Truck series. In addition to its 1 mile, D-shaped oval, the infield forms part of a 1.3-mile road course and a 1/4-mile (0.4 km) short oval. Its grandstand capacity is 10,000.
