Machimoodus State Park

Machimoodus State Park is a state park located in the village of Moodus, which is part of the town of East Haddam, Connecticut. It consists of the former Echo Farm and the former Sunrise Resort, purchased in late 2008. It located on Leesville Rd in East Haddam.

Salmon River (Connecticut)

The Salmon River is formed at the confluence of the Blackledge and Jeremy rivers about one mile west of North Westchester, Connecticut. It runs for 10.4 miles to Salmon Cove near Moodus where it flows into the Connecticut River. There is a popular paddling route along the Salmon River varying in difficulty from quickwater to Class II whitewater. It begins along River Road about 1/10 of a mile south of the river's formation and continues for about 7 miles to the flatwater of Salmon Cove.

Goodspeed Musicals

Goodspeed Musicals, a non-profit organization dedicated to the preservation and advancement of musical theater and the creation of new works, was formed in 1959 to restore the Goodspeed Opera House, located in East Haddam, Connecticut, to its original Victorian appearance. Each year, Goodspeed produces a total of 6 professional musicals. The Goodspeed reopened in 1963 and, under the direction of Michael P. Price since 1968, has sent 19 productions to Broadway.

Boardman House (East Haddam, Connecticut)

The Boardman House is an elegant mansion in the historic district of East Haddam, Connecticut and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The Boardman House was built in 1860 as a residence for Norman S. Boardman and his family. The three-story structure is built in an informally romantic version of the Italianate style. It was built at what originally was known as Norwich Avenue.
