Bolton High School (Connecticut)
Bolton High School is a public high school located at 72 Brandy Street, Bolton, Connecticut. Bolton participates in the North Central Connecticut Conference (NCCC) for athletics, and competes as a Class "S" school. Bolton High School accepted students from nearby Willington, Connecticut, until that community regionalized in the early 1990s. Academic year 1991-1992 was the last year that Willington students graduated from Bolton High.

Blackledge River
The Blackledge River begins 2.5 miles southeast of Manchester, Connecticut just north of Route 534 in a gully near Converse Road. The Blackledge runs for 16.4 miles until it flows into the Salmon River. A popular whitewater paddling route begins at West Road about 4 miles south of Gay City State Park. There are frequent Class I-II whitewater rapids throughout the route to the Salmon River. The Blackledge River Railroad Bridge is a historic bridge that crosses the river.

Hop River
The Hop River's marshy source is just southeast of Bolton Notch, Connecticut. It flows for about 15.0 miles to its confluence with the Willimantic River. There is a popular paddling route beginning where the Skungamaug River enters the Hop River just north of the Hendee Road bridge and ending at the Willimantic River. Most of this route consists of quickwater, but a few Class I and Class II whitewater areas exist. The Hop River does not refer to the common hop Humulus lupulus used in brewing.

Shady Glen
Shady Glen, officially Shady Glen Dairy Stores, is a restaurant with two locations in Manchester, Connecticut. John and Bernice Rieg opened the first Shady Glen store near the Manchester/Bolton town line in 1948. They followed up with a second store located in the Manchester Parkade shopping center in 1965. It is now owned by William and Annette Hoch.
