Quaker Hill is a village or neighborhood in the town of Waterford, in the southeastern part of Connecticut, USA. It is located in the northeast corner of the town, on the west bank of the Thames River north of New London, and centered around the intersection of the Old Norwich Road and the Old Colchester Road. Connecticut College Arboretum

The Connecticut College Arboretum is a 300 ha (750 acres) arboretum and botanical gardens, founded in 1931, and located on the campus of Connecticut College and in the towns of New London and Waterford, Connecticut, USA. Arboretum collections are: the Native Plant Collection, the Caroline Black Garden, the Connecticut College Campus, and the Greenhouse.

Connecticut College

Connecticut College (Conn College or Conn) is a private liberal arts college located in New London, in the U.S. state of Connecticut. The college was founded in 1911, as Connecticut College for Women, in response to Wesleyan University closing its doors to women (the college changed its name to Connecticut College in 1969 when it began admitting men). The campus is located on the Thames River, overlooking the Long Island Sound on the highest point in New London.

USS Bass (SS-164)

USS Bass (SF-5/SS-164), a Barracuda-class submarine and one of the "V-boats", was the first ship of the United States Navy to be named for the bass. Her keel was laid at the Portsmouth Navy Yard. She was launched as V-2 (SF-5) on 27 December 1924 sponsored by Mrs. Douglas E. Dismukes, wife of Captain Dismukes, and commissioned on 26 September 1925, Lieutenant Commander G.A. Rood in command.
