Norwich Free Academy

The Norwich Free Academy (commonly called "NFA") founded in 1854 and in operation since 1856, is a high school located in the city of Norwich, Connecticut. The Academy serves as the primary high school for Norwich and the surrounding towns of Canterbury, Bozrah, Voluntown, Sprague, Lisbon, Franklin, Preston and several others. It was recognized by the U.S. Department of Education as a National Blue Ribbon School of Excellence in 2001.

Integrated Day Charter School

In 1989, the Integrated Day Program of Norwich, Connecticut was established within the existing public school system. In 1997, Joan Heffernan, June Morrone, and Joyce Werden helped to create an alternative school, as a free public school choice, for all members of the Norwich community and surrounding areas. The charter was awarded in February 1997. The school opened its doors August 1997 with 175 students and a sizable waiting list.

Mohegan Sun, located in Uncasville, Connecticut, is the second largest casino in the United States with 364,000 sq ft of gaming space. It is located on 240 acres along the banks of the Thames River.
