West Melbourne is a city in Brevard County, Florida, United States. It was created in 1959 to stop the area from being annexed into the City of Melbourne. The population was 18,355 at the 2010 census, up from 9,824 at the 2000 census. In 1970, the city's population was approximately 3,050. Since 2000, the city has experienced the highest population growth percentage of any municipality in Brevard County. It is part of the Palm Bay–Melbourne–Titusville Metropolitan Statistical Area.

Melbourne Central Catholic (MCC) also known as The Great CC, is an American private, Roman Catholic, coed high school located in Melbourne, in Brevard County, Florida. It was a Blue Ribbon School of Excellence in 1991. MCC has had 100% of their graduates enroll in college and 85 percent on average have received Bright Futures Florida scholarships.
