Radium Springs, Georgia

Radium Springs is an unincorporated community located on the southeast outskirts of Albany in Dougherty County, Georgia, United States. It is part of the Albany, Georgia Metropolitan Statistical Area. Radium Springs is best known as the location of one of the "Seven Natural Wonders of Georgia": the largest natural spring in the state. The deep blue waters of Radium Springs flow at 70,000 gallons (265,000 liters) per minute and empty into the Flint River.

It covers Albany, Valdosta, Bainbridge, Americus, Fitzgerald, Cairo, Moultrie, Thomasville and Tifton. It was created in 2001 as part of a three-way split of area code 912, which had served the southern half of Georgia for 46 years. Savannah and the eastern portion stayed in 912, while Macon and the northern portion became area code 478.

Southwest Georgia Regional Airport is a public airport located three miles (5 km) southwest of the central business district of Albany, a city in Dougherty County, Georgia, United States. The airport is owned by the City of Albany and is served by commercial passenger airlines. The 2013 Federal sequester will result in the closure of the airport's control tower and will require pilots to rely on air traffic controllers from other area airports.
