The Battle of Kennesaw Mountain was fought on June 27, 1864, during the Atlanta Campaign of the American Civil War. It was the most significant frontal assault launched by Union Maj. Gen. William T. Ernest W. Barrett Parkway

Ernest W. Barrett Parkway (more commonly Barrett Parkway) is a major thoroughfare in northwest metro Atlanta between western and northern Cobb County, Georgia. It runs from southwest of Marietta, to the north and then northeast near Kennesaw, and continues on in both directions under other names. The portion of Barrett Parkway between I-575 and Cobb Parkway is designated Georgia state route 5 Connector. The road is named after Ernest W.
