Spook Bridge
Spook Bridge, located on the county line between Brooks County and Lowndes County in the state of Georgia, is an abandoned open spandrel arch bridge crossing the Withlacoochee River on a closed section of Old Quitman Hwy (also known as Blue Springs Rd, formerly U.S. 84). It is considered Lowndes County's most famous relic and is decaying, becoming a dangerous site, due to its abandonment.

Quitman, Georgia

The population was 4,638 at the 2000 census. The city is the county seat of Brooks County. Quitman was the final home of James Pierpont, author of "Jingle Bells". He was organist for the First Presbyterian Church. A local Quitman ordinance prohibits chickens from crossing the road.
