Nora Mill Dam

Nora Mill Dam is a log dam 1 mile south of Helen, Georgia on the Chattahoochee River. The dam was built in 1824, and there is still a working grist mill at the site.

Dukes Creek

Dukes Creek is the creek in White County, Georgia on which gold was found in 1828. Either Frank Logan or one of his slaves is typically given the credit for this find. The discovery of gold in White County and neighboring Lumpkin County led to the Georgia Gold Rush. Dukes Creek is a tributary of the Chattahoochee River. The 150 foot Dukes Creek Falls, which are actually located on Davis Creek at its confluence with Dukes Creek, are accessed by a hiking trail called the Dukes Creek Trail.

Anna Ruby Falls

Anna Ruby Falls is located near Unicoi State Park in White County near Helen, Georgia. The waterfall is accessible via a half mile (800 m) trail from a public use area with a small admittance charge. The Anna Ruby Falls Trail is designated a National Recreation Trail in Georgia. Anna Ruby Falls is actually twin waterfalls created where two separate streams- Curtis Creek and York Creek- join at the base of the falls to form Smith Creek, which flows into Unicoi Lake.

Stovall Mill Covered Bridge

The Stovall Mill Covered Bridge is the smallest covered bridge Georgia. Built in 1895, it is one span wide and 33 feet long and made of wood. It spans Chickamauga Creek in White County and is located near State Route 255. The bridge is currently owned by the White County Historical Society. The bridge served as a link on the Cleveland to Clayton Road, but, by 1959, the road was moved away from the bridge.
