Coastal State Prison
Coastal State Prison is a Georgia Department of Corrections state prison located in Savannah, near Garden City. The facility houses Adult Male Felons, the capacity is 1578. It was constructed 1981 and opened in the same year. It was renovated in 1999, it is a Close Security Prison. Seven of the eleven housing units contain 36 cells each, with 12 cells holding two men and the remaining 24 holding four. The N building also has cells built for two men each.

2008 Georgia sugar refinery explosion
The 2008 Georgia sugar refinery explosion was an industrial disaster that occurred on February 7, 2008 in Port Wentworth, Georgia, United States. Thirteen people were killed and 42 injured when a dust explosion occurred at a sugar refinery owned by Imperial Sugar. Dust explosions had been an issue of concern amongst United States authorities since three fatal accidents in 2003, with efforts made to improve safety and reduce the risk of recurrence.
