Garden Valley, Idaho

Garden Valley is an unincorporated census-designated place in Boise County, Idaho, United States. As of the 2010 census, its population was 394. The mountain setting and recreation opportunities attract visitors from the Boise area. The life here in early American history, however, was harsh. Economic opportunity was based on logging, mining, and ranching. In later years there was work here as hunting guides. Outsider artist James Charles Castle was a native of Garden Valley.

Bogus Basin

Bogus Basin Mountain Recreation Area is a ski area in the western United States, located in southwest Idaho in Boise County, 16 miles north-northeast of the city of Boise. Bogus is operated by the Bogus Basin Recreation Association, a non-profit organization, on private and leased land in the Boise National Forest. Ski season generally runs from Thanksgiving weekend until the weekend preceding April 15, depending on snow conditions.
