Burnham is a village in Cook County, Illinois, United States. The population was 4,206 at the 2010 census. The ZIP code is 60633. Burnham has a Chicago ZIP code, and is often mistakenly considered part of Chicago. It is, however, an independent municipality lying just south of the Chicago city limits. Burnham was named for Telford Burnham who drew its plat; not, as is widely assumed, by Chicago city planner and architect Daniel Burnham. There are two sections of Burnham.

The Hegewisch Station is a commuter rail station within the city of Chicago, Illinois, that serves the South Shore Line north to Millennium Station and east to the cities of Hammond, East Chicago, Gary, Michigan City, and South Bend, Indiana. The Hegewisch station recently introduced two new high-level platforms, as part of NICTD's continuing effort to comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990. Hegewisch is NICTD's easternmost stop in Chicago and offers pay parking.

Chicago Assembly (frequently Torrence Avenue Assembly) is Ford Motor Company's oldest continually-operated automobile manufacturing plant. It is located at E. 130th Street and Torrence Avenue in the Hegewisch community area of Chicago, Illinois. Chicago Assembly currently builds the Ford Taurus, Lincoln MKS, and Ford Explorer, all of which share the same platform. Production started on March 3, 1924, as an alternative production site for the Model T to the River Rouge Plant.

Calumet City is a city in Cook County, Illinois, United States. The population was 37,042 at the 2010 census, a decline of 5.2% from 2000. The ZIP code is 60409. Calumet City (commonly referred to locally as "Cal City") was founded in 1892 when the villages of Schrumville and Sobieski Park merged under the name of West Hammond, since it lies on the west side of the Illinois-Indiana border from Hammond, Indiana. In 1924, West Hammond officially changed its name to Calumet City.

The Hammond Station is a commuter rail station in Hammond, Indiana that serves the South Shore Line north to Millennium Station and east to East Chicago, Gary, Michigan City, and South Bend, Indiana. The station originally had ground-level platforms, but in 1998, the platforms were raised to allow accessibility for people with disabilities. The station house was also remodeled and modernized.
