Roman Catholic Diocese of Lafayette-in-Indiana

The Diocese of Lafayette-in-Indiana was established by Pope Pius XII on October 21, 1944, from the territory of the Diocese of Fort Wayne. At that time, there were 54 parishes. The diocese contained approximately 31,700 Roman Catholics at its inception. Bishop William Leo Higi presided over the diocese from June 6, 1984 until March 12, 2010, when the Holy See announced his successor, Timothy L. Doherty of the Diocese of Rockford.

Loeb Stadium

Loeb Stadium is a stadium in Columbian Park Lafayette, Indiana, United States. It was primarily used for baseball and was the home of Ohio Valley Redcoats and later the Lafayette Leopards. The ballpark had a capacity of 3,500 people and opened in 1940. It is home to the Colt League Baseball World Series every August since 1974 and home to the Lafayette Jefferson High School Bronchos for IHSAA Baseball. It has hosted the IHSAA Baseball State Finals four times, most recently in 2005.

West Lafayette, on the other side of the Wabash River, is home to Purdue University, which contributes significantly to both communities. Together, Lafayette and West Lafayette form the core of the Lafayette, Indiana Metropolitan Statistical Area.

Lafayette Central Catholic Jr/Sr High School

Lafayette Central Catholic Jr/Sr High School (often referred to as simply Central Catholic or CC) is a Roman Catholic high school located on the south side of Lafayette, Indiana, which lies 65 miles (108 km) northwest of Indianapolis. The school was founded in 1956 under the direction and guidance of Bishop John George Bennett of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Lafayette in Indiana. The current enrollment nears 400 total students.
