Calumet Park, Illinois

Calumet Park (formerly DeYoung) is a village in Cook County, Illinois. The population was 7,835 at the 2010 census. On May 13, 2010, Mayor Joseph DuPar and the Village Board approved renaming 127th Street as Obama Drive, in honor of the 44th President of the United States. On August 21, 2010, State Senator Emil Jones III read a proclamation of the Illinois Senate in honor of the dedication on the same date.

Raceway Park (1938–2000) was 1/4 mile stock car race track located in Blue Island, Illinois, on 130th Street & Ashland Avenue between Western Avenue and Halsted Avenue, used for stock car races from the mid-1930s until the year 2000. In all advertisement it was billed as being located in Blue Island, IL. but was really located right across the border in the town of Calumet Park.

Blue Island (Metra)

The Blue Island Metra station is the terminus of the Metra Electric Metra line from downtown Chicago, Illinois to Blue Island, Illinois. It is in fare Zone D. Vermont Street Metra station over the road serves Metra's Rock Island District, which service splits here to the north; most trains run via the Suburban Line, with some rush-hour trains heading north-east. Blue Island and Vermont Street stations share the same parking facilities and bus connections.

Vermont Street (Metra)

Vermont Street is a station on Metra's Rock Island District, in Blue Island, Illinois, 16.4 miles from LaSalle Street, the northern terminus of the line. In Metra's zone-based fare system, Vermont Street is in zone D. The Rock Island service splits to the north of the station; most trains travel north over the Suburban Line, while some rush-hour trains travel north-east. Blue Island Station to the north of Vermont Street is the western terminus of the Blue Island branch of the Metra Electric.
