Stonefort is a village in Saline and Williamson counties, Illinois, United States. The population was 297 at the 2010 census. Stonefort school system merged with Carrier Mills, and is platted on the face of a bluff or Stonefort Bluff.

Stonefort Precinct, formerly township, is Congressional Township 10 South, Range 4 East of the Third Principal Meridian located in Williamson County, Illinois. It is named for the community of Stonefort, Illinois.

Dykersburg, Illinois

Dykersburg is an unincorporated community in eastern Williamson County, Illinois in what is now Crab Orchard Precinct. It was also known as Absher, though that name had fallen into disuse by the mid 20th Century. The post office was established as Absher on 27 July 1892 and named for the first postmaster, William A. Absher. The name changed to Dykersburg on 10 September 1898. The following spring on 17 April 1899, it changed back to Absher. It discontinued operations on 14 April 1908.

Carrier Mills, Illinois

Carrier Mills, formerly Carriers Mills and Morrilsville, also known as Catskin, is a village in Saline County, Illinois, United States. The population was 1,886 at the 2000 census. Carrier Mills was named after George Washington Carrier and his saw and grist mill, and was one of the early Cairo and Vincennes Railroad boomtowns. Carrier Mills has lost 44% of its population since the 1920 census high of 2,943.

New Burnside, Illinois

New Burnside is a village in Johnson County, Illinois, United States. The population was 242 at the 2000 census. In 1878 New Burnside peaked in population at 1,200. The village was founded in 1872, and was a Cairo and Vincennes Railroad boom-town. Much of its founding was based on the same coal mining industry that grew Harrisburg and Carrier Mills, but slowly turned to an orchard based economy by 1900. It was named after civil was general Ambrose Burnside.
