Homer Township is located in Will County, Illinois. The population was 39,059 at the 2010 census. In 2001, the village of Homer Glen was incorporated within area that is Homer Township. This region was formerly an unincorporated census-designated place known as Goodings Grove, Illinois. It also had an unincorporated town of Hadley within its borders and a proposed railway, the Chicago, Joliet and Peoria Rwy.

Des Plaines River Valley Bridge

The Des Plaines River Valley Bridge is a post-tensioned concrete girder bridge in the northeastern portion of the U.S. state of Illinois. It carries Interstate 355 over the Des Plaines River, the Chicago Sanitary and Ship Canal, the Illinois and Michigan Canal, several railroad lines, Bluff Road, New Avenue and a forest preserve. This is officially named the Veterans Memorial Bridge. There are title plaques on the square pillars at the North and South entrances to the bridge.
