Alexandrian Public Library

The Alexandrian Public Library serves the residents of Mount Vernon, Indiana as well as Black, Lynn, Marrs, Point and Robinson townships (approximately 21,000 residents). Founded by Matilda Greathouse Alexander, the library has been in existence since 1895. The Main Library, built in 1986, is located at 115 West Fifth Street, and boasts over 100,000 items, a dozen public computers, as well as free Wi-Fi.

Mount Vernon is a city in and the county seat of Posey County, Indiana, United States, in the state's far southwestern corner. The population was 6,687 at the 2010 census. It is located in Black Township and is part of the Evansville, Indiana, metropolitan area, which had a 2000 population of 342,815.

University of Southern Indiana

The University of Southern Indiana (USI) is a public university located just outside of Evansville in Vanderburgh County, Indiana. Founded in 1965, the school offers 70 undergraduate majors, 10 master's programs, and one doctoral program. With enrollment of over 10,800 students, USI is among the fastest growing comprehensive state universities in Indiana. Among Indiana's four-year universities, USI has the lowest tuition rates and gets the least state funding per student.

Diamond Island (Kentucky)

Diamond Island is an island in the Ohio River. It has an area of about one half square mile. It is ten miles west of Henderson, Kentucky in Henderson County, Kentucky. In the late eighteenth century, it was a hideout for river pirates, most notably, Samuel Mason and his gang in 1797 and serial killers, the Harpe Brothers.
