Evansville Central High School

Evansville Central High School is a public high school in Evansville, Indiana. It is the oldest high school in continuous operation west of the Allegheny Mountains. Its was established in 1854 as Evansville High School. The name was changed to Central High School in 1918 when FJ Reitz High School was built. Evansville residents usually call it simply Central High. The school mascot is the Bears; colors are brown and gold.

WPSR is a non-commercial radio station broadcasting a Variety format. Licensed to Evansville, Indiana, USA. The station is currently owned by Evansville-Vanderburgh School Corp and is run by high school students. The station is also broadcast on HD radio. The station initially only broadcast from 6:45am–2:45pm on school days when it went on the air in the 1950s. In the 1990s, broadcasts were expanded until midnight every night.

Mesker Park Zoo and Botanic Garden

The Mesker Park Zoo and Botanic Garden is a zoo that opened in 1928 in Evansville, Indiana. It is one of the oldest and largest zoos in the state. Set in a 50-acre park, the zoo features 200 species and more than 700 animals roaming freely in natural habitats surrounded by exotic plants, wildflowers, and trees. The Mesker Park Zoo and Botanic Garden is accredited by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums.
