Winfield is a town in Winfield Township, Lake County, Indiana, United States. The population was 2,298 at the 2000 census, 4,383 in 2010 and 4,530 in 2011. The town is having rapid growth. The town was incorporated 1993, making it one of newest towns in the county. Prior to that time it had been part of Winfield Township as an unincorporated town. Winfield is named for General Winfield Scott.

Leroy, Indiana

Leroy is an unincorporated town in Winfield Township, Lake County, Indiana. The town was founded on December 11, 1875, by Thomas McClann. The town sign at the intersection of U.S. 231 and Elkhart Street describes Leroy as "One of Lake County's First Irish Settlements". The town contains the Living Testimony Church, which was founded in 1888 and still holds services to this day.
